Appointments
At Candlewood Medical Centre, patients are able to book appointment for:
- Consultation with a doctor in the surgery
- Telephone Consultation – the doctor will call you at the appointed time.
- Video Consultation – the doctor will call you at the appointed time.
Please note that Medicare rebates for telephone and video conferences are only available for our patients that have attended the practice within the last 12 months. Otherwise private fees* apply.
Please book online on Health Engine or call reception to make your preferred appointment.
Current Patients
We recommend that you ask to see your regular doctor when you make an appointment. However, if your doctor is unavailable, you can be seen by any doctor and the doctor has access to all your medical records.
New Patients
Candlewood accepts and welcomes new patients. Our dedicated team looks forward to providing you with high quality care to cater for your ongoing health needs.
Please download and complete the New Patient Registration form, Medical History form and Privacy Consent form and bring it when attending your appointment.
Alternatively, the reception staff will provide you with the forms to be completed when you attend. However, it is recommended you complete these forms prior to attending your appointment.
Patients are also able to fill the forms online on HealthEngine.
Waiting Time
We seek to provide medical care to you in a timely manner and request that you be on time for your appointment. However, you may have to wait longer to be seen due to your doctor having to attend to patients in need of urgent complex care. We appreciate your understanding when this occurs on occasions.
Your doctor may ask you to book an additional appointment if you have multiple issues to be addressed.
Translation Service
Candlewood can arrange for translation services if you do not speak English. Please let reception know if you need this service.
We have doctors that can provide consultations in Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Burmese, and Punjabi. Please see the profiles of our doctors.
We do not recommend that you use friends and family members for translation as any translation is best done by qualified translators.

At Candlewood, we can lodge your Medicare claim electronically on your behalf after your appointment and Medicare will pay the rebate directly into your account. You need to register your account with Medicare beforehand. For more information on how to claim a Medicare benefit, click here.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend to your appointment, please cancel the appointment at least 2 hours prior so that your appointment slot can be reallocated to someone else needing medical care. A fee of $25 will be charged for non-attendance without prior notice at the next appointment.
Appointment Types
A standard appointment is up to 15 minutes. Please book a long consultation of 30 minutes if you have more than one problem to be addressed or need a consultation with counselling.
